DAC80508: How to set initialization for SPI communication of DAC80508

Part Number: DAC80508
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hello, I am debugging SPI communication with dac80508evm and nrf52840. I have downloaded the official dac80508z. H file.

How to write the initialization of DAC in keil? I want to start with reading device ID. I also see that the post says to send the read command 0x81, but I don't understand it very well. I still have no clue. How can I realize the initialization setting? Could you give me some advice and guidance? Thank you very much.

Best wishes!

  • Hi Yue Wang,

DAC80508 EVM can be interfaced with any SPI maser , DAC80508 EVM is demonstrated SPI communication with USB2ANY interface.

I can support  if  you interfacing any issue with USB2ANY interface ?

Iam  not familiar with nRF52840 module. Could you please check your Keil complier will support SPI driver for nRF52840 and yes check any example code available so you can try.

  • I tried to use dac80508evm and usb2arny to connect, and the external 5V voltage is used as VDD, and the vio interface 3.3V is provided by using the J1 wire connection, but the test software of DAC 80508evm always displays demo mode instead of hardware connection. After checking, it is found that pins 5 and 6 on J1 are on, that is, the vio port and ground wire are on. Does this indicate that there is a problem with my DAC board?
I look forward to your reply.
  • Hi,

How you are checking J1(5,6) is short(on)  with USB2ANY is connected with EVM ?

Could you please check the following

    1. Remove USB2ANY interface connection from J1 if you connected with EVM , jumper JP1 & JP3 then check still J1(5,6) is on. then we can conclude device got damaged.

    2. No short observed J1(5,6) with above step, then provide external supply VDD (5.5V) and check 5V coming from reference output U2(2).

Based on observation will move further.

    Regards
