Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DXP, , DAC8811
Hi team,
My customer wants to use DAC8811EVM on the DXP tool.
They want to input a 1MHz signal, but on DXP it looks like up to 500kHz.
How should they use 1MHz?
Sincerely.
Kengo.

HI,
Overall update rate of DAC8811 is approximately 1uS including SPI transcations time and settling time. That is the reason we limit the frequency generation to 500KHz. It doesn't make sense to generate 1MHz sine wave when your update rate is 1uS.

There are also some limits to the capabilities of the MMB0 hardware on the EVM that prevent higher than 1MSPS. If they want to explore different sample rates, I suggest they implement an external data generator.
Thanks,
Paul
