ADC12DJ3200: Effective number of bits when JMODE4

Hi team,

When selected JMODE0, output data consists of 12-bit data, the ENOB is about 8 bits;

When selecting JMODE4, output data consists of 8-bit data. What is its ENOB? This parameter was not found after viewing ADC12DJ3200 datasheet.

Hi Neeraj,

I'd like to ask further question:

The ADC12DJ3200 has a 12-bit core, it has 7.8bits ENOB in 8 bit modes. Is this 7.8bits ENOB directly intercepting the 8bits MSB of 12 bits?

Hi Amy,

In 8 bit mode the lower 4 bits are truncated and rounded and the output is 8-bit of performance and due to real world effects you get 7.8bit of performance.
