ADC3664EVM: about clock input

Hello E2E,

Our customer are evaluating for performance of ADC3664 on EVM.

They would like to experiment with the 125MHz 2-wire method and the 65MHz 1-wire method. Is there a way to input the clock without using the SMA connector?

They checked the schematic, but didn't know how to input two clocks from the FMC connector, and thought that the on-board clock generator wasn't good enough to generate DCLKIN.

Regards,
ACGUY

  • Hi ACGUY,

Yes, we can use the FMC connector to route the sample clock and DCLKIN signal from the FPGA to the ADC3644. Please see the attached power point for detailed instructions.

You are correct about the onboard clock option (CDCE6214) not being able to support the desired frequencies. This will be removed in the next PCB revision.
