ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: ADS1298RECGFE-PDK: ADS1298R EVM Evaluation software stuck in reading registers and not communicating with MMB0 board

Part Number: ADS1298RECGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R, ADS1294

Hello.

We have ADS1298R Dev kit, but I have some issues getting it work. I downloaded and installed the ADS1298R EVM Evaluation software.

Earlier we tested it and it was working fine but when we tested it two weeks later we found that it gets stuck in "Reading Registers". we can't figure out, whats the problem in this case. we have all the jumpers set as they are said in user guide and also in this exact same configuration they it was working , We assume the MMB0 board isn't the problem and the problem has to be somewhere on ADS1298R ECGFE board.

I also added a screenshot to illustrate where exactly it gets stuck. The Progress bar increases by 5% about every 20 seconds but even if it reaches 100%, nothing happenes and sometimes it incorrectly shows ADS1294

Hope you can help me overcome this problem. We have also checked the voltages and they are fine. Also the LED on the AFE is blinking properly as it was earlier

Please help us to debug this issue.

Thanks

  • Hi Abhishek,

Welcome to the E2E forum !!!

As stated in the reference post, the issue usually occurs when the MMB0 cannot communicate with the AD1298R device on the EVM. Therefore, I would recommend checking to make sure the device is still functioning by probing the following signals. Please probe these signals as soon to the device pins as possible. It is unnecessary to run the EVM GUI as the device will operate in its default state once you apply the power to the MMB0 board. I hope we can get some clues from these debug.

    Supplies
    AVDD, AVSS, DVDD
    VREFP
    VCAP1, VAP2, VCAP3, VCAP4

    Digital signals
DRDYB: You should see the default data rate pulse at 250SPS.
CLK: 2.048 MHz clock signal to the device.
    CLKSEL, PWDNB, RESETB

    Thanks

    -TC
