DAC1280: DAC1280 evaluation board

Part Number: DAC1280

Goodmorning, I've been using an old soundcard as low frequency (below 100Hz) AWG so I removed capacitors to get DC output.
Now I would like to move to a serial/USB device but current soundcards and/or USB DAC have output frequency starting from 20Hz.
I need DAC with bipolar power supply.

Taking a look to DAC1280 datasheet I think it's suitable for my purposes but I can't find evaluation board.
May someone help me and tell me if available similar device/evaluation board?
Thanks.

  • Hello Michele,

Unfortunately, if there is no EVM available on TI.com then there are a couple of options to evaluate the device. Either, build your own evaluation board or system to check out the performance, or look for other online retailers that might have build an evaluation board equivalent. Note I am not really allowed to give any more specific advice besides this as we are the device experts, not any other retailer you might find online. So be forewarned by possibly getting fake products, modules that do not work correctly, or show the correct performance of the device.

This is pretty common with older devices (this one was made over a decade ago), but there is an initiative to build EVMs for these older devices. Unfortunately, I don't have any comment on the prospective date for the DAC1280.

    Best,
