ADS8887: Minimum sample rate

Hi team,

Can the sample rate for the ADS8887 be set to 4KSPS? Or is there a minimum sampling rate limit?

Looking at the characteristic curve below, the sample rate for the ADS8887 seems to be at least 10KSPS, could you by any chance help me confirm this problem?

    Hi Amy,

    SAR converters do not typically have a minimum sample rate and can be run as slow as you would like! We only characterize the performance in the curves down to 10ksps, but you could extrapolate the curves to lower rates too. Note that the slower you run, the longer the acquisition time and the easier it will be to settle to 18-bit performance.
