I have a question about AWR1843 data path processing.

Figure 19 in AWR1xxx and AWR22xx Data Path.pdf states that the frame is triggered by DFE or SW. Is this related to the chirp frame in the Radar programming model?

I don't get your query fully. Could you elaborate more?

DFE stores the raw ADC data to ADCBuffer memory location. There are two ways frame can be triggered: HW and SW

SW: using mmwavelink API rlSensorStart

HW: by providing external SYNC IN pulse (mainly used for Cascade system AWR1243/2243 device).

This HW/SW frame trigger option can be control by rlSetFrameConfig API rlFrameCfg_t->triggerSelect

Hi,

DFE is copied that raw ADC data to adcBuffer memory and set chirp available event.

At this event (chirp data available in adcBuffer memory), CBUFF (circular buffer) state machine is triggered to copy ADC, CP, CQ (using edma) to LVDS interface to stream data external to device.

YES, above mentioned DFE -> chirp available event is related to chirp/frame in radar programming model. DFE is activated based on the configuration (profile, chirp, frame & frame-trigger) which further copied data to ADCBuff.
