ADC12DJ3200: balun Impedance Ratio

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200

Hi team,

The typical application description in chapter 8.2 of the ADC12DJ3200 datasheet using balun requires type 1:2, and the typical application is tcm2-43x. The reference design hsp001-ADC12dj3200evm schematic clock pins balun uses tc1-1-43x-2+ with a impedance ratio of 1. I wonder why balun is not used with the same ratio, and what is the basis for balun to choose? Could you give me guidance in this regard? Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Amy Luo

  • Hi Amy,

I apologize for the confusion. Typically you don't really need to use a 1:2 impedance ratio balun or transformers, you can always re-match to the proper impedance. Certainly your balun choice using the tcm2-43x will be more proper and will work just fine.

    Regards,

    Rob
