ADS5562EVM: ADS5562EVM

Part Number: ADS5562EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5562

We are having difficulty using ADS5562 when it is configured for non 5V supply at J7.  We are providing 12V at J7, and jumpers accordingly configured. When we do this, TPS5420D is producing a very high voltage and B340A-13-F kicks in pulling the voltage to ground. it works as expected for a second or two, but after that the voltage is pulled to ground.

We tried this with few out of the box ADS5562s. Same thing happens each time. Look forward to your feedback on the matter.

  • Cagil,

    Remove L8, L24, and the shunts on JP13, JP14, JP16, and JP19. Install the shunt on JP17. Make sure R12 = 51K and C42 = 16pF.

    Apply 12V to J7.

Verify there is 5.3V on pin 1 of JP16. This will verify U11 is working properly.

Install the shunt across pins 1-2 of JP16.

Verify there is now 5V on pin 3 of JP19. This will verify U12 is working.

Install the shunt across pins 2-3 of JP19

Verify there is now 3.3V on JP13 pin 1. This will verify U14 is working properly.

Install the shunt across pins 1-2 of JP13.

Verify there is now 3.3V on JP14 pin 1. This will verify U9 is working properly.

Install the shunt across pins 1-2 of JP14.

Verify U8 and U13 pin 4 is now at 3.3V.

    Regards,

    Jim
