AMC1210: Technical issues

Hi team,

I find about two solutions about resolver decoding:

1.Using the AMC1210 in Resolver Motor Control Systems;

2.TIDA-01527

Now I look for a solution about 6 resolvers decoding with high accuracy, Which solution should I perfer choose? Or any other better way?

    Hi Zhonghui,

    Looking over the TIDA-01527 documents, I would start there.  It would appear that there is readily available software to get you started with the TIDA-01527 as well.

    Thank you for your reply.
    You mean you will perfer to choose TIDA-01527 or not AMC1210 solution? Furemore, I worry about if I use ADC of C2000 core DSP to convert 6 resolvers OEXC/OSIN/OCOS as mentioned in TIDA-01527, it will lead to the difference of conversion time, which result in the accuracy of decoding.

    Hi Zhonghui,

    Will all of the resolvers use the same excitation source?  If so, you would need at least three AMC1210 chips.  Then you would need 6 modulators such as the ADS1205 to handle the SIN/COS inputs.  Synchronizing the AMC1210's would start with a common system clock fed to each filter chip, but synchronizing the filters could be a challenge since this is done via software write to an internal register (the MFE bit in the clock divider register).

    On the ADC side of things, you could use two ADS8364 devices and share a common CONVST between them to get 12 simultaneously sampled signals (SIN/COS x 6 resolvers) into the controller.
