TSW14J56EVM: TSW14J56EVM CLOCK

Part Number: TSW14J56EVM

Hi,

I am new to this hardware stuff, I have noticed that there are 2 different clock frequencies available on TSW14J56EVM, 10MHz for general purpose and 100MHz DDR3 reference. I am assuming that "CLK0_M2C_P/N H4 and H5 GPIO clock CLK1_M2C_P/N G2 and G3 GPIO clock" those pins provide 10MHz. Do we have a pin for also 100MHz one? Is it possible to use a 100MHz clock for an external custom-designed circuit?

Thanks,

Diren

  • Dea,

The clocks on H4/H5 and G2/G3 are inputs to the FPGA from the FMC connector. You can use J3, J14, and J15 to bring in an external clock.

The 100MHz on-board clock is for the DDR3. The 10MHz oscillator, which is not installed by default, is a spare clock input.

    Regards,

    Jim
