ADS5402: ADS5401/ADS5402 Ground scheme

Part Number: ADS5402

The ground pins on the upper half of the part (like rows 10-14) seem like they really want to be analog ground since that is where the AVDD22, AVDD18, and INA_P/N powers and IF are.  What would happen if those GND pins surrounding those analog powers and IF are tied to AGND?  If there a barrier from ground on the top half of the part versus all digital on the bottom of the part?  Or something internal that connects AGND to DGND?  I'm trying to understand why there's analog signals but no analog grounds provided for the analog signals.
