ADS54RF63: Technical issues

Part Number: ADS54RF63

Hi team,

The test SFDR and SNR values are inconsistent with the datasheet. Please help analyze them.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

  • Hi ,

Please let us know what is being used for the clock and analog input signals? A signal generator? If so, what model number signal generators are being used.

Also, is the analog input and clock filtered before connecting the signal generator to the EVM? If should be to help remove spurious and noise from the signal generator.

Lastly, the FFT results provided, are overlapped, pleas use a "bin centered or prime number" analog input frequency, so that the harmonics are not overlapped on top each other, this is not a valid FFT.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • Hi Rob,

    Thank you for your help.

I'll give you feedback after I confirm.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Rob,

    Thank you for your help.

I just got the reply from customer.

    1) the clock and the analog input signal is used?

    Clock signal = 500 MHz
    Ain = -1dBFS, Fin = 69 MHz
    2) Signal generator?
    3) If so, what type of signal generator used.

R&S®SMA100A Signal Generator - сlock and analog input

    4) the signal generator is connected to the EVM entry before the analog
    input filtered and clock?
    5) If there is a filter will help to eliminate the noise signal generator .

The clock signal is filtered through the NLP-550+.
The analog input signal is filtered through two series-connected BBP-70+.

    6) Finally, provided by the FFT results overlap, please use the "bin
centeredor prime number" analog input frequency, so that harmonic not to
    each other.

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Zhonghui,

Have the customer use 68.992614746MHz. Not 69.00MHz. All the harmonic spurs are on top each other. The customer will need to use a prime number for the analog input frequency in order to sample the data in correctly.

They can also follow the instructions on this app note on how to coherently sample, see link: www.planetanalog.com/.../

    Regards,

    Rob
