DAC8718: Fixed offset of 10V on all Analog output

Part Number: DAC8718

Sir,

I hope you are fine. I have been using DAC8718 for more than 2 years. As per datasheet of DAC8718, specific power up sequence should be followed. First, Digital supply (IOVDD and DVDD) both tied to 3.3V then Analog supply (AVDD = 15V, AVSS=-15V) and finally the Vref = 3.3V should be applied. Unfortunately, we didn't implemented this power up scheme in our design. Luckily, it had been working well for more than 2 years but today it is giving the 10V offset fixed. Eventhough, i tried to change the value in the offset register but nothing happens. However, changing the input data register does change the analog output but with same offset of 10V. Here in out design, we are applying the all of these voltages at the same time.

Thanks

  • Hi Awais,

Can you share your schematic? Could your digital inputs be incorrect? It might be worthwhile to confirm the digital inputs with a scope.  Does changing the supply ramp order change this behavior?

    Thanks,

    Paul
