ADS131E08S: Recommended External Capacitor Values us ADS131E08

Part Number: ADS131E08S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131E08

Due to timing problems We are thinking of replacing the ADS131E08 with the ADS131E08S.
The recommended values of the capacitors in both cases are different.
But if I don't have the need to use the 3ms start up feature that the ADS131E08S has, can I keep the values of the capacitors recommended by the ADS131E08?

  • Hello Dina,

The ADS131E08 and ADS131E08S are not the same silicon (though they are similar). While the new capacitors help enable the quick start up time for the ADS131E08S, they are also needed to ensure the internal reference circuitry is stable so they can not be changed.

    Best,

    -Cole

Edit: I have decided to ask the team internally just to confirm. I'll reply to the thread once I confirm. I ask for you patience as we are approaching the holidays in the US.

  • Hello Dina,

I've confirmed that there are no concerns using the ADS131E08 value caps with the ADS131E08S if you do not want to use the fast start up.

    Best,

    -Cole
