TSW1400EVM: Reference design with two DACs and one ADC operating simultaneously

Part Number: TSW1400EVM

Hello,

1. Is there a reference design of TSW1400EVM with two DACs and one ADC operating simultaneously?

There is a similar but with one DAC and one ADC reference design TIDA-0069. My customer is looking for two ADC and one DAC reference design.

https://www.tij.co.jp/tool/jp/TIDA-00069.

2. Is it possible to connect TSW1400EVM and DAC3484EVM via J1 CMOS interface by using a conversion board, etc.?

3. If No.2 is not possible, could you please propose alternative DAC evaluation boards (2ch or more, 14bit or more, 40MSPS or more)?

Best Regards,

Katsuhiro

  • Katsuhiro,

    1. There is no reference design for this.

    2. It could be possible. You would have to verify if the pins on J1 can be used for LVDS on the TSW1400EVM. TI has never tried this.

    3. Possible dual CMOS DAC's you could use are the DAC2904, DAC5686 and DAC5688.

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Hello Jim,

Thank you very much for your feedback. Can you clarify No.2 further please?
    1. Understood.
    2. Does TI or third party have interface board for J4 SAMTEC QTH connector on DAC3484EVM to J1 connector on TSW1400?
    3. Understood.

    Best Regards,
    Katsuhiro

  • Katsuhiro,

TI does not have one of these and I do not know of any third party that would. I think this is something you would have to build yourself. I would suggest contacting Samtec. They may be able to build a flex cable with the appropriate mating connector on each end.

    Regards,

    Jim
