Hi,

We are planning to use ADS52J90EVM with TSW14J57

I noticed that the memory is 32Gb (2G, 16 bit), in the case of 32 modes and 32.5MSPS sampling rate, we can capture the data for 1.9 seconds which is too low.

My question, the software is designed to capture the data from all the 32 channels and store it in the memory, then transfer it via USB3 to a PC, or we can select some channels we want to use then it will capture only that channels data and store it in the memory.

To increase the capture time is that possible to capture only 5 channels (32 modes) 32.5MSPS sampling rate? so the capture time will be around 12 seconds.

Hello,

Apologies for the delay in response.

The software is written to capture data from all 32 channels and store in memory, we cannot capture lower number of channels as is.

To enable your desired functionality, you shall have to write your own FPGA firmware.

May I know your exact concern?

The reason I am asking this is because the complete TSW board contains a lot of non-TI components and we cannot guarantee the functionality for the complete range -40C to 80C. But as far as TI device is concerned (ADS52J90), you can expect functionality from -40C to 80C.

Actually, we have some test cases where the board should be inside a temperature chamber.

Hi Bhaaeddin,

What is the range of temperature you want to test the boards at?

What I can do is check the schematic of the TSW card and verify the operating temperature of some critical devices. If they have quite a big range, I will let you know. Then you can proceed with your tests.

Hi Bhaaeddin,

I checked it with my team and looked at the schematic as well.

In summary, there is no issue in terms of operating the boards in the range of temperature you mentioned. But, the data capture will definitely not work at such extreme temperatures like 115C or -40C. The main reason for that is the timing constraints such as setup and hold times for the FPGA capture will very likely violate.

Hence, these timings violations shall not allow to capture the data reliably. You will see a lot of glitches in the data.

In terms of any damage to the components, it is unlikely.

We usually just put the DUT in controlled temperature conditions keeping the FPGA outside, so we also cannot guarantee the operation.
