ADC12DJ3200: Ibis AMI model : S- parameter naming convention

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200

Hi team,

I am using ADC12DJ3200 Ibis model as Transmitter in JESD204B lanes. I am using TX_ami along with nport_typ_xxxx_RI and DAx.s4p.

As of my understanding DAx shall be used for x-th channel of converter A, and DBx.s4p for x-th channel of converter A.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

In Ibis user guide it has been told that nport_typ_xxxx_RI is related to Driver termination. Please let me how to choose the value of termination? Does it differ for channel to channel?

Thanks and Regards,

Nagesh

  • Hi Nagesh,

The DAx and DBx S4Ps cover the package model of the different lanes. The nport_typ_xxxx.s4p describes the source resistance of the TX buffer. The _xxxx refers to the selected emphasis value of the TX (4 bits: 0-15). The AMI simulation is a concatenation of TX_AMI, nport_typ_xxxx_R.s4p, DXx.s4p as shown in the ADS sample schematics.

    Regards,

    Neeraj
