ADC108S022: ADC108S102

Part Number: ADC108S022
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC108S102
I am using ADC108S022CIMTX/NOPB.
We are considering using ADC108S102CIMT/NOPB
because we are running out of parts.

Among the electrical characteristics of the 102 model,
there is a value for the lowest speed of spi communication,
so it is questionable.

Currently, the spi clock speed is 1 MHz.
The 102 model has a minimum speed of 8Mhz, is it not possible to use it?

thanks^^

  • Hello

The ADC108S022 device supports 0.8Mhz to 3.2Mhz clock frequency. This directly relates to the 50 ksps to 200ksps sampling rate the device is specified for.

The ADC108S102 device supports 8MHz to 16Mhz clock frequency, this directly relates to the 500kps to 1Msps sampling rate the device is rated for.

These two device are derived from the same family of devices, the correlated difference here is the testing of each device. Each device is tested within the specifications of the datasheet. Each device can operate at the 8Mhz, but the S022 will not have been tested for performance at the clock rate.

Aside from this, the device are pin to pin and software compatible
