DAC7716 :DAC7716

Part Number: DAC7716

Hello,

I'm looking into the DAC7716 component, I'd like to use it as a 0-20V output, I understand that the supply voltages are as follows: Electricals characteristics:
All specifications at TA = TMIN to TMAX, AVDD = +11V to +18V, AVSS = -11V to -18V, VREF = REF-A = REF-B = +5V, DVDD = +5V, IOVDD = +1.8V to DVDD, AGND = DGND = REFGND-A = REFGND-B = SGND-x = 0V, and DAC gain = 4, unless otherwise noted (PDF page 3)

My question is the following:

1) What is the minimum voltage to use to have an Output from 0 to 20V?

2) Can the Vss value be zero?

Thanks in advance,

Mathieu Z.

  • Hi Mathieu,

You should have AVDD= +21V (or greater), but AVDD+AVSS must be less than 36V.  You still need some negative supply, so AVSS should be less than -1V.  See note 4 on the electrical characteristics table.

    Thanks,

    Paul
