ADS5560 output can't be enabled -- Always in tri-state mode.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5560

To one who may concern :

We are using the ADS5560 in our project.

We are having problem with outputs, inclding CLKOUTP, CLKOUTM, and D_P & D_M alway in tri-stated mode.

We tried all kind of reset (hard and soft) and OE pin toggling and still have no result.

Help !!
Please!!

  • Hi Mark,

In order to exit the tri-state mode, you will need to make sure the OE pin is HIGH.

Since you have done a soft reset, I am assuming you are using SPI to communicate to the ADC. I would make sure the RESET pulse timing meet the timing spec on Figure 7. In order to use serial interface mode, the RESET pin has to be tied low. There needs to be a high going pulse to reset the device initially.

Please let us know how you are using the ADS5560. If you can share the schematic and programming sequence, it will help us debug the issue.
