TLA2518: Calibration Time

Hi team,

In the TLA2518 datasheet there is no mention that I can find of the calibration time. For calibration, all I see is what is given in 7.3.4:

The variation in ADC offset error resulting from changes in temperature or AVDD can be calibrated by setting the CAL bit in the GENERAL_CFG register. The CAL bit is reset to 0 after calibration. The host can poll the CAL bit to check the ADC offset calibration completion status.

Is there a maximum calibration time or a way to calculate the maximum calibration time?

Hello,

Unfortunately there is not any measured data readily available about this process. The calibration is an internal process that can vary given various temperature.

I will look into this, and see if I can dig up anything, but I doubt there will be any new insight.

Hi Jacob,

I test out the calibration on the EVM. I set the CAL bit and then polled to the CAL bit using a clock frequencies up to 1MHz, and found that the calibration process was always complete by the time I read out the CAL bit.

I hope this helps and provides some comfort/guide to the customer
