ADC08D1520QML-SP: calibration

Part Number: ADC08D1520QML-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC08D1520

Does the ADC08D1520QML-SP do an automatic calibration run on power up? The commercial-grade ADC08D1520 does the calibration run on power up and since they are similar, I thought the space version would, too. However, the space version datasheet only mentions calibrations on command. I just need confirmation that I need to command the calibration with the ADC08D.1520QML-SP.

  • Dan,

The QML-SP version of the ADC08D1520 does not have the automatic POR which would set the configuration registers to known values and then run the calibration.

For this part, if the extended control mode is enabled (using config registers), after power-up, the user needs to set the registers to the known/desired values (writing to all registers) and then run calibration. This should be done after power supplies and clocks are at nominal values and stable.

If you are in pin control mode (aka non-extended control mode), then you just need to apply power and clock and then run the calibration.

    Regards,

    Jim
