DAC8775: Figure 134 Total On-Board Power Dissipation

Part Number: DAC8775

Hi team,

I suppose Figure 134 "Total On-Board Power Dissipation" is for Figure 130 typical application, but the total power dissipation seems lower than the characteristic data, say Figure 93.

What are the test conditions for Figure 134?

  • Voltage mode or current mode?
  • Full scale code for voltage mode?
  • 24mA for current mode?
  • Assuming room temperature.

  • PY,

I'm sorry, I thought I had answered this question yesterday but I don't see my response here.

Unfortunately, I don't have any further information on the test conditions for this particular curve in the datasheet. Based on the data, this is definitely current mode output because the lower load resistances in voltage mode would have too high current outputs. I would also assume that this plot is for room temperature.

Because of this, I would refer back to the plots in the typical characteristics section. Of these Figures 88 and 92 may be the most useful to try to piece the information together.

Additionally, the DAC8775EVM is very similar to this application circuit. The data seen in this graph can be generated from tests using the EVM.

  • Dear Joseph,

Thank you! Your support is always highly appreciated!

Understand. Will refer to other Figures and discard Figure 134.
