TSW1400EVM: Posibility to control simultaneously DAC5681 and ADS5463EVM with the HSDC GUI

Part Number: TSW1400EVM

Hi Team,

Our customer would like to control DAC5681 and ADS5463EVM simultaneously with the HSDC GUI. According to our customer,

We have tested successfully the TSW1400 module, controlled by the HSDC pro GUI separately with a DAC5681 module and with an ADS5463EVM module.

We suppose there is no hardware limitation in the TSW1400 module to control both modules simultaneously and that the problem is with the HSDC pro GUI , as it seems not suitable to control simultaneously both modules  DAC5681 and ADS5463EVM.

Our intention is to generate a train of tones with DAC, apply to a test circuit and receive with ADS module in real time. Maybe we would need another software to manage both modules simultaneously. If yes, can we download it?  Or maybe we are expected to program by ourselves in MatLab with some dedicated toolbox?

  • Danilo,

I'm not sure that this is possible or something that we can offer any support on. I am checking with our software team on this. Stay tuned.

    Thanks, Chase

  • Danilo,

We do not have firmware that supports this ADC and DAC control simultaneously. Typically in cases like this, 2 TSW1400EVM is required along with 2 PCs. However, only one PC is required if the customer is not planning to change the DAC input frequently. The first TSW1400EVM will be connected to DAC. Open HSDC Pro to program the FPGA for DAC and send the desired tone. Once the first TSW1400EVM is setup properly, disconnect from this capture board in HSDC Pro and connect to the second TSW1400EVM, this setup will be used to receive the captured tones from the ADC EVM. Note that the customer will need to utilize the serial number to connect to the correct board. Hope this helps.

    Thanks, Chase
