ADS131B04-Q1EVM: [KET]

Part Number: ADS131B04-Q1EVM

Hi, TI Support Team

The customer is currently reviewing the production of PRA (Power Relay Assembly).

I have a question during product review using ADS131B04-Q1EVM, so I would like to contact you as follows.

[Part Specification Question]

1) Measurement environment: ADS131B04-Q1EVM

2) Measurement configuration and result: voltage sensing environment assuming reverse voltage (abnormal condition)

ⓐ Connect 0V to AINxP, apply –0.45V voltage to AINxN: Measure voltage normally

ⓑ Connect 0V to AINxP, apply a voltage lower than –0.55V to AINxN: Increase in voltage error

3) Inquiries

① What is the factor that increases the error in the above measurement result?

② What is the negative voltage measurement range?

③ What are the possible problems when a negative voltage exceeding the component specifications is applied?

The contents below are reference contents of the datasheet.

[6.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings]

[6.3 Recommened Operating Conditions]

Please reply to your inquiry.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hello MJ,

thank you for your post. The Absolute Maximum Ratings is not the intended use of the product. These specifications describe the allowable conditions which will not cause permanent damage.

For the usable input voltage range, under which the device is characterized, please refer to the Recommended Operating Conditions table. The absolute voltage with respect to AGND on each pin cannot be less than -100mV (Gain = 1, 2) or -300mV (Gain > 2).

    Regards,

    Ryan
