DAC3484: dual sync sources

Hello,

We have been using the DAC3484 without the OSTR signal and it has worked well. However for a new application we need to have fixed latency and hence need to use dual sync sources approach. However we missed connecting the OSTR pins of the device. The documentation says that OSTR can also be generated internally (in case of single chip operation). Please guide on any limitations with this approach and how to implement this.

Also, in future designs what will be the best way to connect OSTR (the eval board connects a clock distribution chip to it). Can it come from an FPGA that is connected  to it?

Thanks for helping us,
