REF3020 - Max Input Voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REF3020

For the REF3020AIDBZ part, the datasheet says the absolute max input voltage is 7V, and everything mentions a typical Vin of 5V, but can we can operate the part without any negative effects all the way up to 7V, or is there a recommended range, say 5V +/- 10% or something like that?

regards

  • Himansu,

REF3020 is specified for the supply voltage of 5V, thus all the guaranteed max and min limits apply only to Vin=5V (unless otherwise noted).  The variation in the Vin of +/-10% beyond specified supply voltage will not degrade the part but the continues operation of the device at the absolute maximum condition (like Vin=7V) for extended period will accelerate the aging of the product (larger long-term shifts) resulting in device degraded reliability - please see the notes below the Absolute Maximum Rating table (below).
