AMC1304M05: sigma delta modulator and demodulator details for modeling and simulation

Part Number: AMC1304M05
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1306M25-Q1

Dear forum participants and/or TI support,

Would it be possible to get the topology and filter coefficients for the sigma delta modulator for modeling/simulation?
The f2837xD SDFM I have managed to model successfully in Simulink, but any more details than in the tec ref manual would still be welcome (to confirm my model since it is stated that the shown architecture is simplified).

BR, Samuel

  • Hi Samuel,

Are you asking for the details of the SINC3 filter used to help generate the performance details in the Electrical Characteristics section? I am not quite sure what filter coefficients you are referring to.

    Regards,
    Aaron

  • Hi Aaron,

Sorry for the confusion. So I am mainly asking for the topology and its coefficients for the modulator (AMC1304M05).
For example ai, bi, ci, and g in the "Cascade-of-integrators, feedforward form" (R. Schreier and G. C.Temes, IEEE Press “Understanding Delta-Sigma Data Converters”, A John
Wiley and Sons publication, 2003): , which seems to match the "conceptualization of the second-order, switched-capacitor, feed-forward ΔΣ modulator implemented in the
    AMC1306M25-Q1"
    :

In addition I am asking for the topology and coefficients for the de-modulator (f2837xD), since the tech ref doc again only shows a simplified architecture without any coefficients (this seems mainly to bring me scaling challenges):

  • Hi Samuel,

I understand now. Thank you for clarifying. This is something I will need to discuss internally. I want to be sure we have this information and if we do, I need to be sure we are capable of sharing it. I may reach out to you offline once I dig a bit further. Will it be OK to reach out via the email you used to sign up on E2E?

As for the f2837xD, I don't have this information available. I would reach out in the C2000 Microcontroller forum to get the appropriate support engineer to look into that request.

  • Hi Aaron,

OK, I understand. You may please use the discussed email should you be able to share the information.
As for f2837xD, thank you for the tip!

    Regards, Samuel

  • Hi Samuel,

No problem! I will mark this thread as 'TI Thinks Resolved' and will reach out soon.
