AMC7836: Are there programmable registers that can be used to describe how the output voltage should adjust vs. temp?

Part Number: AMC7836
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC7834, AFE10004

Hi team,

My customer has the following question-

I am checking if the AMC7836 bias DAC is capable to adjust its output voltage based on temperature. Does the AMC7836 have programable registers which we could use to describe how the output voltage should adjust versus temperature?

  • Hi Lauren,

I suspect your customer is looking for some kind of closed-loop operation.  Unfortunately, that AMC7836 does not support closed-loop operation.  It would require an MCU to read the ADC and write to the DACs.

You could consider the AMC7834 that supported closed-loop operation using a current shunt monitor, or they could look at the AFE10004, which supports closed loop operation with temperature feedback.

    thanks

    Paul
