ADS1260: no output VBIAS (2,5V) on AINCOM Pin configurable

I haven't tried configuring the ADC to output VBIAS (2,5V) on the AINCOM pin yet.
Attached is the configuration for the ADC, I was able to read it out correctly. AVDD = 5V.

mode1 = 0x11h

mode2 = 0x00h

mode3 = 0x00h

ref = 0x05h

imux = 0xFFh

imag = 0x00h

pga = 0x00h

inpmux = 0x34h

inpbias = 0x10h

Do you have to configure more for the output of VBIAS at the AINCOM pin or does a special configuration prevent this output.

Does the AINCOM still have to be actively set to output?

  • Hi Frank,

    Turning on the VBIAS is pretty straightforward. The value you have for INPBIAS = 0x10h is correct to turn on the VBIAS feature to output on the AINCOM pin. This is also the only register setting required to enable VBIAS.

    Once this command has executed correctly, you should be able to measure (AVDD-AVSS)/2 = ~2.5V on the AINCOM pin.

    Are you saying that you have tried executing this command and nothing happens?

    i solved the problem.

    The cause was that the voltage supply at pin AVDD was too high, I measured 5.5V.

    Only when I set the AVDD to 5.0V did the ADC accept its parameterization and output the VBIAS = 2.5V.

    This is a bit surprising for me, but in the data sheet AVDD_max = 5.25V for Recommended Operating Conditions.
