DAC70502: bit1/0 on DAC data

Part Number: DAC70502

Hello support team,

My customer ask DAC70502 bit1/0 on DAC data, even if  bit1/0  is written any value, this does not influence the output voltage result,  is their understanding correct? They feel that output voltage seems to be change by the bit1/0 value.

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hello,

The data in the DAC is left aligned. While 16 bit will use the whole register, 14-bit will have 2 bits unpopulated. Since the data is left aligned, the data will populate 15th through 2nd bit, leaving 1st and 0th bit as do not care. So, your assumption is correct. Populating first and zeroth bit will not affect your output.

    Did this answer your question?

    Thank you,
