DAC60508: DAC60508MCRTET with/without external Vref REF3325AIRSER

Part Number: DAC60508

We are planning to use DAC60508MCRTET with an external Vref REF3325AIRSER but we could not source the ref. part and DAC60508MCRTET is very low in stock.

The DAC has option for internal Vref but I worry that it might not be accurate since I saw some of the question in this forum having issue with internal Vref reading lower than the 2.5V. What would cause the internal Vref unreliable?

Wonder if  you could help to soure both DAC60508MCRTET  and REF3325AIRSER . Lead time is long on those parts.

Also, if you have recommendations for equivalent DAC/REF parts, please advise as well.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Cuong,

We expect that our DAC60508 device would be compliant with our published specifications for the reference.  I am sure which specific forum post you are referring to, but if our reference is out of specification (and not damaged by some customer interaction) we would expect that there would be a device quality event and the customer would initiate a return.

If the published specifications for the reference are within your application's requirement, I would advise you to use the internal reference.

I cannot comment on lead times.  If you have placed an order for devices, you can reach out to the customer support center.  TI.com/csc.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Thanks Paul.

I might consider using the internal Vref then or only use the Ref as a backup plan. Please give advises in layout regarding  power and ground of DAC and the power and GND of the device that's driving the DAC.

  • Please review the layout guidelines in the datasheet.  Otherwise I recommend a unified AGND/DGND with direct ground plane.

    Thanks,
    Paul
