[FAQ] How do I resolve MMB0 driver installation issues

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO, ADS1256

I purchased an EVM that includes an MMB0 motherboard. I also downloaded the latest version of ADCPro and installed the correct device plugin.

However, when I run the ADCPro software and select my device, I get the following error message:

"The firmware load has failed due to a timeout condition. Please reset the hardware to continue loading the firmware."

I pressed the reset button on the MMB0 motherboard but I am still getting the error message. How do I resolve this issue?

  • This error commonly occurs because the MMB0 drivers were either not installed at all or were not installed correctly.

To check if the drivers were installed, navigate to the MMB0 drivers folder via the following path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro\drivers". Once there, you should see that the following two drivers are installed:

Next, open Windows Device Manager and connect the MMB0 to your PC without running ADCPro. You should see the following:

Then, open up ADCPro and the correct device plugin e.g. ADS1256. Device Manager should refresh and the device name in the previous image should change to the following:

If this is not the case you will need to find the "unknown device" and manually install the USBstyx driver. This can be accomplished by following the FAQ for the PAMB board, which is a similar controller board for precision ADCs.

To fix the error with the MMB0 motherboard, complete the instructions from the PAMB FAQ as follows:

    • Complete steps #1 through #7 as instructed in the FAQ
    • For step #8, point to the USBstyx driver at the following location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro\drivers\USBStyx\usbstyx.inf "
    • Complete steps #9 through #12 as instructed in the FAQ
