FMC-ADC-ADAPTER: FPGAs to interface with

Part Number: FMC-ADC-ADAPTER
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS54T02EVM, ADS54T02,

Hi,

I have an ADS54T02EVM Rev A TI ADC. I also have a FMC ADC Adapter Rev D from TI.

I would like to know if we can use Spartan 7 SP701 Embedded kit for acquiring the raw ADC data through the FMC-ADC adapter.

I would also like to know the methodology if any, to interface Kria KV260 kit with the FMC-ADC adapter and ADS54T02 combination to acquire ADC data.

Warm Thanks & Regards,

Adithya N

  • Hi Adithya,

The TI FMC-ADC-Adapter enables the output of TI’s high-speed ADCs LVDS output to be directly connected to a standard FMC. It appears that the Spartan 7 SP701 Embedded kit uses VITA 57.1 LPC FMC, which is compatible with the TI FMC-ADC-Adapter.

The Kria KV260 does not use an FMC connector and you would need to look at the KV260 schematics to determine if the Pmod pins connect to any LVDS capable pins on the FPGA. Additionally, you would need to look into the availability of any clock capable pins. If supported, an adapter could be built to interface the Pmod to FMC, but it is highly unlikely that these Pmod pins are LVDS capable.
