TX810: crosstalk vs frequency

Customer is interested in a data plot showing crosstalk vs frequency. Do we have any data we can share?

We have such plots in some of the data sheets for TI signal mux devices. Closest plot for this in the TX810 data sheet is Figure 7, but this really shows crosstalk vs bias current and has only two frequencies plotted. Spec table data for cross talk is given for one frequency (10 MHz).

Hi,

Sorry we dont have more data other than what has been specified in datasheet. But there is a way to estimate the cross talk at other frequencies. From figure 7, for given bias current, you will get cross talk for 5 and 10MHz. Using this two numbers you can extrapolate the data for other frequencies. For example at bias current of 4mA, cross talk at 5MHz is ~-72 dBc and at 10MHz it is -69dBc. So changing frequency by 2x, gives 3dB change in cross talk. So at 2.5MHz, cross talk will be -75dBc. This way you estimate at other frequencies too.

Thanks for the information and you're extrapolation idea seems reasonable. However, you're example exposes an error. The plot shows better isolation at 10 MHz vs 5 MHz, but I think this is reversed. The data in the Electrical Spec tables of the data sheet is for 10 MHz and this data aligns with the upper plot on Figure 7 (labeled 5 MHz).

Yes you are correct. It seems there is an error in the figure 7. Cross talk degrades as frequency increases. So labeling for 5MHz and 10MHz got interchanged in the figure 7.
