ADS7952-Q1: If 2* vref> + Va, what will be the impact on ADC?

Part Number: ADS7952-Q1

Hi team,

Customer asked me a question, if 2*VEF > VA, what will be the effect on ADC. For example, VREF=2.7V, VA=5V.

Looking forward to your reply as soon as possible

Thanks.

  • Hello B R

Below is a snippet of the absolute maximums for the device. This table list the maximum settings the device can be configured to. Notice that

Notice that the input signal cannot be greater than ~Va , this includes using range 2Vref.

If the customer is using VREF=2.7V, VA=5V, this setting is fine, but they should be aware that if the voltage at the actual input pin of the device is greater than 5.3V then the device will be violating the Abs Max.

    Regards
