ADS1234: Ground and Analog Plane

Hi guys !

I am a EE student and here is my pcb. I juste have one question about the digital and analog separation. I am hesitating between these 2 options:

1) have separated analog and digital ground planes only on the back layer and digital/analog traces on the front

2) have analog and digital ground planes on both layers and connect the two digital (same for analog) ground layers using vias

Hello Tomas,

We suggest using a solid ground plane for all digital and analog connections, instead of partitioned ground planes.

As for the analog and digital connections, we suggest having all the analog connection on side of the board and the digital on the other (like the left vs the right of the board). even when using multiple layers, try not to have different types of signals to run above or below each other.
