I understand from a previous post that the 3rd LED is "a static mode selection as opposed to dynamic switching selection. The device does not support simultaneous 3 LED operation."
Is this a limitation of the evaluation board, or the AFE4403 chip? In other words, is simultaneous 3-wavelength operation available with the AFE4403 chip?
Previous post for reference:
Hi,
According to datasheet page 41 and Figure 8-18. Multiplexing Third LED, the 3rd LED connected to TX3 is muxed, so it cannot be simultaneously with the LED connected to TXP pin.
Thanks
Thanks. I wonder why it was implemented this way, instead of running the 3 LEDs simultaneously like the AFE4404. Any idea if there is a design advantage? Maybe only having a 2-channel timing engine in the chip?
We are not allowed to disclose/share the detailed design/thinking pattern and processes for the IC.
Thanks.
