ADS52J90: Difference with ADS52J91 and Power Consumption Inquiry

Part Number: ADS52J90
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS52J91

Hi Team,

I see that the ADS52J91 full datasheet is selectively disclosed. Can help us give our customer a brief comparison or difference between ADS52J90 and ADS52J91? Need this information for device selection purposes.
.
Also, Figure 36 of the ADS52J90 datasheet shows the device power consumption across different clock frequencies for 10-bit mode. Would it be safe to assume similar power consumption characteristics in 14-bit mode?

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards

Jejomar

  • Hi Jejomar,

I have received your request. Our team is a bit stretched right now due to many customer requests. I will respond to you by Friday, 9th Dec.

    Thanks,

    Karthik

  • Hi Jejomar,

The chief difference between ADS52J90 and ADS52J91 is their maximum ADC conversion rate:
    – 100 MSPS in 10-Bit Mode for ADS52J90, 125 MSPS in 10-Bit Mode for ADS52J90
    – 80 MSPS in 12-Bit Mode for ADS52J90,  100 MSPS in 12-Bit Mode for ADS52J90
    – 65 MSPS in 14-Bit Mode for ADS52J90, 65 MSPS in 14-Bit Mode for ADS52J90

Yes, the power consumption for the 14-bit mode will be in the same ball park. 14-bit mode can be up to 3mW/channel higher than that of the 10-bit mode.

    Thanks,

    Karthik
