ADS1262: ADS1262

Part Number: ADS1262

Hi

I intend to use the ads1262 to mesure as PT100 Scanner.
and becuase the temperature process is very slow I intend to use the ads at 2.5 sps .
My question do I still need the anti aliasing filter ?

  • Hi Ahmed Shaaban,

The anti-aliasing filter is there to prevent the ADC modulator frequency from folding back into the ADC passband. At 2.5SPS, the ADC passband is quite small, so there is probably little chance of any aliasing. However, the resistors used to create the anti-aliasing filter also help limit the current into the ADC pins should an overvoltage event occur. If your ADC inputs are exposed to the outside world, it is always possible that someone could miswire the system and apply a larger voltage to the ADC inputs e.g. 24V. Again, the filter resistors help limit this current into the ADC and avoid permanent damage. It is up to you to determine if this is necessary for your system
