Hi,

It seems no data output format is specified in the datasheet. Are data in two-complement or offset-binary format? Other parts, like AFE5808A, allow the user to choose between both formats, buy it seems this capability has been remove in AFE5816. Datasheet only says that OFFSET_CHx field should be specified in two-complement, but does not give any other info about this topic.

    Hi CJ,

    Apologies for the delay in response.

    The output format is in twos complement. 

    I am also not sure why they have removed this bit selection for output format. It used to be in ADC register 4 [3] in previous generation devices. I looked this bit in the datasheet of AFE5816 and found that it has been modified to always 0 (which corresponds to 2s complement). 

    You can try writing 1 on this bit and see if it still supports offset binary. 

    I hope I am able to address your concern regarding the output format.
