ADS5400: Other 'Interleave Friendly' ADCs?

Part Number: ADS5400
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS54J20

Hello,

For my application, I'd like to interleave four ~250 MSPS ADC evaluation boards to achieve ~1 GSPS. The ADCs should have a minimum resolution of 12 bits.

I noticed the ADS5400 supports interleaving by allowing the user to adjust gain, phase and offset.

Do you offer any other slower ADCs with this feature, or similar? The ADCs do not necessarily have to be 250 MSPS.

Many thanks,

Matt

  • Matt,

We offer the ADS54J20, which is a 12 bit, 1Gsps ADC that uses 4 internal ADC's (interleaved). Would this part work for your application?

    Jim

  • Hi Jim,

    Thank you for your reply.

My plan is to control each ADC using a separate slower FPGA. This is to keep costs down by avoiding the use of a single high-speed ADC and FPGA (as well as the FPGA software license).

Subsequently, the FPGAs I plan to use are not fast enough for 1 GSPS speeds or JESD204B. So, instead I'm looking to interleave slower (LVDS/parallel CMOS) ADC evaluation boards externally.

Obviously, for most evaluation boards, this will require significant calibration to reduce the noise associated with interleaving. So, if there was a slower alternative to the ADS5400 that facilitated interleaving, this would be an attractive option.

    Regards,

    Matt

  • Matt,

See if these parts will work for you.

  • Hi Matt,

Let's move this offline. I sent you an E2E friend request, please provide me with a good contact email.
