ADS5263: Using ADS5263 at higher sampling rates as 100MSPS

Part Number: ADS5263

Dear All,

I have used the eval board ADS5263-EVM at 110MSPS (datasheet states 100MSPS max) and the acq looks at the first glance OK. The power consumption goes up by app. 0.15W but I have not noticed any additional obvious problems (spectrum, spurs,..). At 120MSPS the spectrum looks worse (additional spurs popping out) but it might be timing issues in the FPGA during the deserialization (I guess by tweaking that one could also remove this problem)

My questions are:

Do you have any measurements, evaluation of the ADS5263 at higher sampling frequencies than 100MSPS?

Besides the power consumption do you see any other parameters affected?

What about life time of the component?

What defines the 100MSPS?

Which parameter can not be fulfilled if the Fs increases?

Best Regards,

Uros

  • Hi Uros,

No, we don't have measurement data for sampling frequencies above 100MSPS since it was designed for that specification.

Furthermore, at production, it is only tested up to 100MSPS. Hence, TI cannot guarantee the performance stated in the datasheet above 100MSPS.

It will be difficult for me to comment on which parameter would be affected above 100MSPS due to the complexity of the design.

    Thanks,

    Karthik
