ADS7066EVM-PDK: Using the evaluation board of ADS7066 for ADS7067

Part Number: ADS7066EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7067, ADS7066

Hi,

I have the Evaluation board of ADS7066, and also I have ADS7067.

I wanted to ask if it is possible to still use the TI GUI after replacing these two ADCs on board?

does it require to update something at the firmware of the evaluation board?

I understand that the sampling ratio will probably be limited to ADS7066 maximum, but it would be sufficient for me.

thank you!

  • Roee,

The two devices are fully compatible except for the sampling rate.  So, if you desolder the ADS7066 and replace it with ADS7067 you will be able to evaluate the 67 up to the maximum sampling rate of the 66.  You will not need to re-program anything and the GUI will think you are evaluating the 66.  I am curious why you are going through the trouble of swapping the devices?  Understanding your motivation will be helpful to us regarding future EVM development.

    Best regards, Art
