Hello,

Can you explain the meaning of this absolute ratio spec? I may be forced to use asymmetrical +/- supplies, and I would like to understand this particular spec.

Absolute ratio of AVSS / AVDD1 to DGND = 1.2V/V

Hello Ben,

This specification defines the allowable asymmetry of the bipolar supplies. This specification is necessary for proper operation of the internal logic level shifters (between the digital and analog domains inside the ADC). For example if AVDD1=1.8V (referred to DGND), then the most negative allowable AVSS (referred to DGND) is -1.2*1.8V = -2.16V. However, since there is no minimum for this specification, AVDD1=3V and AVSS=-2V, are valid supply levels.
