Hi,

Good Day.

We need some clarification about this part.

In the datasheet, it is stated that it can generate square, saw tooth pulse waveforms.

But can we use this part to convert digital data to analog using i2c?

    Hi Ray,

    Yes. You can use the I2C interface to generate a digital to analog output like any other DAC. Write the output code to the DAC_DATA register. 

    The waveforms mentioned in the datasheet are just built in waveforms that don't require any external communication.
