ADS1294: Pins and registers of channels 5-8 in ADS1294

Dear Sirs!

It is not clear to me what shall I do with pins

1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D (IN5P - IN8P, IN5N-IN8N) of ADS1294. BGA case.

From one side these channels are not exists in ADS1294. From other side datasheet write (remark 1) that all unused pins shall be tied to AVDD. Are these pins internally disconnected in ADS1294? Please elaborate. In datasheet it is absolutely not clear

Really! Please try to read carefully my question. In ADS1294 these inputs do not exists. I want to know what happen internally in chip. Do these pins disconnected internally or connected to anything? To read datasheet I do not need this forum

Hi,

After discussing internally, 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D (IN5P - IN8P, IN5N-IN8N) of ADS1294 are internally shut down not used.

Still, (1) Connect unused pins to AVDD.

Shall I connect unused pins directly to AVDD or via any resistors? I prefer to connect directly to AVDD without resistors. Is it ok?

Hi,

Additional FYI, datasheet page 65

(1) CH5SET and CH6SET are not available for the ADS1294 and ADS1294R. CH7SET and CH8SET registers are not available for the ADS1294, ADS1294R, ADS1296, and ADS1296R.

You may connect to AVDD without resistors.
