ADS124S08EVM: Not able to detect ADS124S08EVM via evaluation software

Part Number: ADS124S08EVM

Hi,

I am not able to detect ADS124S08EVM via evaluation software and getting error "Hardware not connected"

I have also tried manually installing the driver but PAMB folder is missing inf files.

  • Hi Anurag Singh,

Installation requires administrator privilege when installing either the drivers or the GUI application.  Normally the main application GUI during installation would create a drivers folder in the following location:

If the .inf files are not showing up, you can go to the Installers folder and install the drivers by executing the appropriate .msi file (usually the x64 version) for your computer OS by right-click and selecting Install.  Or you can execute the appropriate .msi from the PAMB folder.  Plug in the EVM and correctly associate the correct driver in Device Manager.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Bob,

I am able to detect the hardware. Thanks again for the support.

However i am still not able to capture any data.

I am not able to see ADC channels above the EVM parameters side.

Can you please suggest what steps I am missing ?

    Regards,

    Anurag

  • Hi Anurag,

Your data capture samples is showing as 2048 and the default settings are for 20sps which means it will take over 102 seconds for the capture to complete and then show data.  So you have to be very patient.  The GUI will not accept multiple button presses at the same time as the capture is taking place otherwise the GUI will quit working and you will never see the data.  So you press the Capture Data one time and wait.  There should be a green flashing LED on the board to indicate the capture is taking place and it blinks about once a second.  If you pressed the Capture Data multiple times or tried to change the configuration during capture, you will need to exit the GUI, reset or repower the EVM and then restart the GUI.

    Best regards,

  • Thanks again Bob.

How i can get multiple channels to display

For now, whatever AIN settings I select for MUXP and MUXN, I am always getting ADC0.

    Regards,

    Anurag

  • Hi Anurag,

ADC0 always represents the currently selected mux channels.  The ADC0 represents the ADC itself and not the selected mux inputs.  The ADC0 displays this way as there is only one ADC with a mux and therefore only one channel can be displayed at a time.  If the ADC was a simultaneous sampling converter with multiple ADCs then you would see multiple channels displayed.
